Conservation Reserve Program
is Communism

Yesterday (2 June 2008) I attended the Joel Heitkamp radio broadcast from Antler, ND,  where the effects of the drought on North Dakota ranching were discussed.  Ranchers want access to their own land that is controlled by the USDA Conservation Reserve program (CRP). I noticed yesterday that CRP is an implementation of the 7th Plank of the Communist Manifesto.  The Communist Manifesto was written by Karl Marx in 1848, as the ten steps necessary to destroy a free enterprise system and replace it with a socialist state.  The 7th Plank encourages the extension of government control and subsidizing (ownership) of the “means of production.”  CRP land is a means of production for cattle, and the government controls this “means of production,” as encouraged by Karl Marx. I’d always wondered about the real value of the CRP program because, for the past 25 years, taxpayers have been paying farmers not to farm their land, which increases food prices.  Even the wildlife justification of CRP is questionable, since 90% of farmers are hunters and would naturally protect both their unique production and wildlife interests. This meeting in Antler was called to pressure the government to give farmers access to their CRP land.  In other words, government control was the problem to solve, and the taxpayers have paid to both create the problem plus the time and travel for the solution.

Can anyone else see that it is time to get tax funded communism (an aspect of liberal philosophy) out of the way of farming, and limit the state and national government to protecting unalienable rights such as life, liberty and property?
